JibberJobber Vision Level The Playing Field

JibberJobber Vision Level The Playing Field The vision behind JibberJobber, from 10+ years ago, is multi-faceted.  I was in my own failing  job search, needing help organizing my networking and applications. I was also ready for something entrepreneurial, and had been thinking about various business ideas. JibberJobber was one of three that I came up with. In this post, I want to share one aspect of the vision behind JibberJobber. One of the key reasons I created JibberJobber was to level the playing field.  What does that mean? Recruiters and HR people involved in hiring have tools, such as applicant tracking systems, that help them organize and manage the hiring process.  They talk with, and should know where they are at, with dozens, sometimes hundreds, of candidates. The expensive software they use helps them keep on top of who they talk with, and where they are at with each person. In contrast, job seekers had well, a scrappy spreadsheet or spiral notebook that they threw together, and spent time patching up. This seemed unfair to me: the employed people had all the right tools (debatable, considering I rarely talk to a recruiter who is happy with their ATS) and job seekers had only what they could come up with. I created JibberJobber so that you, the job seeker, could have a toolset that (a) did the job (helped you organize and track) and (b) helped you feel empowered, and to a degree, feel like the tools you have at your fingertips somehow help level the playing field. That was one of the purposes behind JibberJobber: to empower you, and level the playing field. What Font Should a Resume Be In?

What Font Should a Resume Be In?The fact that an individual is applying for a job means that the employer is going to want to know what font they should use when they are creating the resume for the individual. This is because of the fact that this will be the first impression that the employer will get of the individual and they may not want to have anything in their resume that could make them look bad. They are also going to want to see something professional looking and the font is a very important aspect of this for most people. There are many different styles of fonts and this is one of the reasons why you need to take your time when you are choosing what font to use when creating your resume. One style of font is going to work for one person and it is not going to work for another person so the style you choose should be up to personal preference. You do not want to use the same font that you are using for your business card. You should try to use a font that is simple and is go ing to stand out in the resume that you are creating. This can be done by using a font that is different from the rest of the fonts that you are using. If you are not comfortable with the whole look of the font then there are other ways of creating a different look for the font that you are using. You can choose the font for each individual's resume by using a computer program that is designed for creating resumes. There are many different programs that are designed for creating the different fonts for the different positions that you are looking to fill. You will find that these types of programs are easy to use and do not take too much time. The only thing that you will need to remember is that each font is going to be different depending on the position that you are looking to fill. Some of the different fonts include all caps for the headings of the resume. You can also choose to use italics or the traditional typeface when you are putting together your resume.Another option that you will have is to use the typeface that is used in the body of the document as well as the headings. You do not have to make the headings stand out but the typeface that you use is going to be important to make sure that the font is not garish. It is not that difficult to create your own typeface that will be simple yet professional looking.Once you have chosen a few different fonts then you are going to have to make sure that you have the right size of font in all of the different formats that you are going to use when you are creating your resume. You can find a font that is large in one format and small in another and this can be very confusing when you are trying to create your resume. You can use the computer software that you have just a little better than you can actually look at the font. You are going to find that the font that you choose is going to make a big difference in how your resume looks. This is because the font will take up more space than the other fonts that y ou are going to use. This is the reason why you should take your time when you are choosing what font to use when you are creating your resume.

The Season for Summer Lovin

The Season for Summer Lovin Danny and Sandy were right. Summer loving is the best. The absolute best. With the toes exposed, the sweat down your back, and the hair in a ponytail, the romantic opportunities for summer fun are endless. In the summer, dates dont have to be just another drink or just another dinner. In the summer, the world is your playground. The sun stays out and so should you and your mate. To spark the beginning of your AMAZING summer, here are some of my favorite summer dates: Ice Cream Crawl:  The next best thing to a beer crawl and this one is appropriate to do at all hours of the day. Concerts / Movies in Parks:  Almost every city has them and they are maybe the easiest, most romantic thing ever. And most likely free. Does anyone remember The Wedding Planner?? ROMANTIC. Or drive-ins. Drive-ins are good too. Dining al fresco: Those cicadas wont stop me! Dining outside is a favorite in the summer. Just sit, relax, pop a bottle of wine (or champagne! Lets do brunch!) and people watch while the heat makes you stick to your seat. Find your nearest fire hydrant and run in it: Its hot. The hydrant is available. Who says it is just for little kids and dogs?!? And if your man doesnt want to run through it with you THAT IS INSANE- PULL HIM. Bike Riding:  Its not the destination, its the journey remember? Especially if your journey consist of pit stops for Dunkin Donuts Iced Tea. And with inexpensive bike rentals popping up everywhere you turn, this one can be a really cheap date too. Canoeing:  I mean, if you want to really ask your man some hard hitting questions, just trap him in a boat. This date would work on your teamwork and give you a new tanning location. Fireworks:  I mean, its the summer. Fireworks must be included! Just go buy some sparklers and take turns trying to get the shutter on your camera just right so you can capture it. Go to a movie.  Okay I know this is normal, but sometimes you need a break from that heat. Its really hot! And truthfully, nothing says summer like those big, budget-busting, explosion movies. Weekend getaways:  Take advantage of your offices summer Fridays and get the heck out of dodge! Try out a new city or even take a stay-cation in a local hotel. Groupon is GREAT for baby getaways. Anything that doesnt require shoes:  Frolic in that field. Play that beach volleyball. Wade in that river. Festivals Fleas Farmers Markets:  Everyone comes out of hibernation in the summer including local businesses! Go wander amongst rows of beautiful crap that you shouldnt buy cause you know you dont have room in your apartment or go check out a random festival (one that hopefully includes inflatable jumping things). BBQ-ing:  Once youve bought your lovely products above, GRILL THEM. I think the smell of charcoal is an aphrodisiac. Sunsets:  Any night, every day. This is a summer must and can be paired with all the other date suggestions listed. Sunrises also count if you have yourself a Really good adventurous evening. Just writing this all down just gets me all giddy. I want to go run outside and just soak up that sun. And lets be real, all of the above are AWESOME dates, but they can be just as fun with your ladies or your bros. CAUSE IT IS SUMMER PEOPLE! And that is what matters. Here is to the most romantic summer yet! Do you have an summer date idea? Lets talk. Happy Thursday yall.

Dreading Heartache Use Spy Apps for Cheating Spouses

Dreading Heartache Use Spy Apps for Cheating Spouses There’s a common adage that ‘behind every successful man is a woman’. Have you ever wondered why opposite is not the case? Don’t take me completely wrong on this because exceptions are always there. A man can aim to achieve success if the woman behind him, be it mother or wife, motivates him, supports him, and make sacrifices for him. But men often tend to forget this and consider women a mere ladder to succeed in life. They are like swarm of bees, going from one woman to another. Gone are the times when women would cry over their partner’s infidelity and live all their lives with nagging suspicion. To avoid this uncertainty, tech savvy women can use android or iPhone spy app for cheating spouse. Can you tell your significant other is cheating? Women are often blessed with an intuitive sense. It’s not that they simply assume things, sometimes they have a strong gut feeling that something is going wrong. With cellphone addiction rampant among both men and women, cellphones are the source which can tell whether your spouse is cheating or not. Is he jumpy about his cell phone? Does he take great pains to lock his phone and continuously change the passwords? Does he feel awkward attending calls in front of you? Is the screen of his cellphone always down so that no one sees the display screen? All these signs pint fingers to one thing: infidelity. The only counter is to buy an android or iPhone spy app for cheating spouse to catch him red-handed. Snooping with discretion You are not living in the 90s era when you would snoop through your husband’s stuff when he is away. Today, everyone owns cellphones to carry out their day-to-day-activities. These gadgets are a boon company for everyone, whether children or adults. The prospect of crouching over his phone when he is in the washroom or someplace else sounds awful. Life is not a movie and you are no Sherlock Holmes so make sure the android or iPhone app you use, functions discreetly. There is no purpose in spying your significant other when he already knows about it. Apps such as xnspy are mostly reliable because they are used in stealth-mode when spying a target. Install a discreet android app or an iPhone app on your target’s phone and monitor all his activities. This will help you to know for sure what your partner is doing, whom he meets, and what’s on his mind whenever you are not around. There will be two outcomes of this; either your fear of his infidelity will subside or you will know for certain that he is a cheat through and through. Get started with a spying app! An android and iPhone spy app that comes handy and can shush all your hallucinations about your spouse cheating is xnspy. A research from United States reported that 30percent of the first marriages result in divorce mainly because either one of the partner is cheating or the partner doubts that he/she is being cheated on. So you need to look for the best discreet android app or an iPhone app that can provide enough evidence to reach an informed decision. Don’t fret ladies! Using a cellphone spy app, you can now monitor your spouse’s calls logs and his texts. You want to know whom he is calling or chatting with? The spy app remotely allows you to monitor his entire contact list. His call log containing all the incoming, outgoing, and missed calls can all be viewed along with the name of the contact, date, and time when the call was made or received. Furthermore, you can view the complete thread of conversation of your spouse with his contacts. The Geo-Tags are offered by some android or iPhone spy app for cheating spouse, so that the location of both the message sender and receiver is known. This feature is available for ‘SMS’ only. You can also read conversations on other platforms including WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, etc. Do you fear that a woman named ‘Elena’ is the girl your spouse is involved with? Do you want to know whether they call each other or not? Are you suspicious that they might be talking about ‘sex’ with each other via messages? There might be so many ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ in your life right now. Through a spy app, you can watch-list the contact Elena and words like sex, etc. so that whenever she calls or such word is used in texts, you will receive an instant alert. You can also keep a tab on your spouse by tracking his GPS location. Monitor his whereabouts whenever you want. You can also monitor his location history with the relevant time and date. Through geo-fencing, you can mark certain places as ‘safe’ or ‘unsafe’. If your target enters that unsafe place, which you do not approve of, you will be instantly notified. Isn’t it amazing? This will leave huge burden off your shoulders as you will get to know each and every detail of his life. Minding your spouse’s business? It’s a natural phenomenon that everyone needs their own personal space. But when there are doubts and suspicions in a relationship, you need to stick your nose into your partner’s business. The best way to do this is by using an android or iPhone spy app to discreetly monitor your spouse. The future of your relationship depends on you. So the choice is definitely yours! Leaving the house for the nearby coffee shop could also be another option for you! Being disciplined is all that you may need to do.5) Job LongevityIs this job sustainable? How long will it last? Writing for another person may pile pressure on you despite a lack of face-to-face meeting. However, you still want to impress and build a reputation that will help you in securing other opportunities in the f uture. You would also want to know how long your clients will be comfortable with what you are charging. Now that you are not attached to them by a permanent contract, they may find a replacement at a time of their choice.Solution: Establish a huge base of clientele and never settle for just a few. Keep building networks that will grow with time and you will certainly not be stranded should one client choose to end any engagements with you.Freelance writing jobs are awesome, especially because you are the boss and for the reason that you can determine how much to be paid. Why Happiness Should Be At the Center of Your Business

Why Happiness Should Be At the Center of Your Business Image Credit: Stock Snap When you think of business, you probably think more about profit margins and marketing to a wider audience than you do about making people happy. And yet, customer satisfaction is the only thing that really keeps your business going. In a capitalist society, focusing on happiness may not be the most fashionable thing, but recently, more and more people are coming round to the idea that a high quality of life might just be better than a string of numbers in a bank account. Workers are much more likely to demand a better working environment and a better work/ life balance now than ever before and customers are no longer silent with constant access to businesses via social media. Put all of this together and you will start to realize that as a business owner, you are here to facilitate happiness just as much as you are to come up with a profitable idea. So how can you put happiness at the forefront of your business model? Happy Customers Buy More and Tell Their Friends Customers are notoriously fickle and you cannot possibly please everyone. However, you can do as much as possible to make sure that you are providing what your customers want rather than what you want to sell. This is quite a specific distinction, but basically in practice it means that you need to put more effort into your market research to get your products right first time. Coming up with creative ideas in the office is all very well but if your consumers aren’t interested or spot a fatal flaw immediately, they won’t be happy with the money they have spent. One of the best ways to ensure that you give customers what they actually want is to do product testing. For example, if you are developing an app to help your clients interact with your company you could use a site like globalapptesting.com to ensure that your app is doing what it is supposed to be doing. Getting this kind of feedback is really important for making your product as good as it can be and ironing out any issues before customers see them. Product testing will also show up where you could develop other things to fill in gaps in the market. For example, you might develop something almost identical so another company’s product but find out during testing that people are actually looking for it to do ‘this’ as well as ‘that’. Solving problems like this won’t just show that you are innovative, but also that you are receptive to customer’s needs and able to make them happy. Another reason to keep your customers happy is that they are much more likely to buy from you again and recommend you to their friends. Given the polarizing nature of social media, doing good is just as fast a way to get noticed as doing bad. The more you can show your customers that you are here for them, the happier they will be to stay loyal to your brand and tell all their friends to switch too. Happy Staff Stay Engaged Since millennials entered the workplace, it has become clear that employers need to do much more to keep them happy. Where Generation X might have stuck to one career path and even worked for the same company for their entire career, millennials are much more likely to be tempted away. This means that it is your job to keep them happy if you want to tempt them in and encourage them to stay. There are lots of things that can make your staff happy and most of them don’t require a slide between storeys or unlimited holiday (although that is going to be popular). In fact, what people are really looking for is a chance to shine and progress in their career without having to put their personal life on hold. Giving your staff lots of opportunities to stretch their capabilities through learning programs, courses or even shadowing within the office will make them feel much more valued and happy in their role. Similarly, asking staff to come up with suggestions and then acting on the brightest and best will show that you are willing to listen and make changes where necessary. Happy staff aren’t just more engaged, they are also likely to be less stressed and healthier as a result. By fostering a healthy work environment, you give people the chance to shine and do their best. Though it is easy to assume that deadlines are the best motivators, if you want your staff to do something truly special, you should give them time to work on things by themselves or in groups without the pressure to be perfect. This is a great way to improve the creativity in your office and open up new ideas. Another key part of keeping staff happy is putting together a brilliant team. Diversity is key to making the best group as you will always get a wider variety of experiences and perspectives around the table.  The better your staff can work together, the more satisfied they will be with their roles and the more successful you will be too. Everyone wins when staff are happy! Happiness can’t be measured in monetary terms but over time, you should see your productivity rise, your staff relax and your customer retention improve. Though you can’t see any direct results of happiness, what you can see is that it is a significant factor in how well your company is doing. The more you can show people that you are worth buying from, the more they are going to flock to your company and confirm its good reputation: and this applies to both customers and staff. When people like working with you or like the brand you have created, that positivity filters out and gets bigger and bigger. Focusing on the numbers might get you somewhere, but focusing on happiness with get you everywhere.

Using the internet to find a job - Hallie Crawford

Using the internet to find a job Many of our career coaching clients are making the mistake of a) not using the internet to find a job or b) using the internet inappropriately to find a job. Some clients don’t have LinkedIn profiles; others have weak ones that don’t show potential employers their skills and what they might be able to offer. A lot of new clients talk to us about all the job searching they’ve done on the internet, and how all these hours have lead to nothing. Most of the time, those people are doing it all wrong. I saw this great article on Harvard Business Review’s website “How to Curate Your Own Personal Job Feed” that gives specific advice on how to use the internet effectively. It’s an article part of the series “The New Rules for Getting a Job”. Read more here: http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2012/03/how_to_curate_your_own_persona.html I encourage you to follow through with everything discussed in this article. These are the same tips we give to our clients, specifically her advice on using LinkedIn: LinkedIn, unlike Twitter, is entirely focused on professional networking so there is no need to separate your job hunting activity. Your starting point for finding listings on LinkedIn is under the Jobs tab  in the top navigation. At first glance, LinkedIns Jobs feature appears similar to other job boards in your ability to search by various criteria, but it offers another important element: the ability to search jobs based on how connected you are to the employer. After filling out your criteria on LinkedIns Advanced Search page, youll receive a list of results along with, on the left side of your screen, a list of ways to refine your search. When you refine by relationship, you can see job postings based on whether you have first, second, or third degree LinkedIn connections into that organization. This is crucial information for determining whether you might be able to ask someone in your network to personally introduce you to the hiring manager or recruiter at that organization. In addition to searching LinkedIns job listings, check out LinkedIn Groups, which also feature job posting areas. Go to LinkedIns Group Directory  and seek out groups for your industry or other niches. Then, for each group you join, click on the Jobs tab within that group. If the group is private, these postings wont appear in a general Google search, so you may find opportunities that arent posted elsewhere. To add these LinkedIn opportunities to your daily rounds, opt in to receive daily job alerts (available from  LinkedIns main Jobs page) and to receive daily group digest emails from each group to which you belong. Source:   http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2012/03/how_to_curate_your_own_persona.html One last important note: While networking online is a good idea, nothing beats networking in-person.
